RCTA LADDERS
The RCTA runs three singles ladders, an Open Ladder, on which both men and women may participate; a Women's Ladder; and a ladder for 55 & Over Ladder for men and women. All players must be current RCTA members and must pay an annual fee of $30.00 for each ladder they wish to join. Players are free to join multiple ladders. All ladder results are recorded and tracked on the RCTA website.
Thank you to Lauren Kende, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker, for stepping up again to sponsor the ladders and tournaments. Please reach out to her with any real estate needs as she handles purchases, sales and rentals.
If you have registered for a ladder, select your ladder below. To register, go here. (Note you must be a current RCTA member before joining a ladder. Use the Join button above to become a member.)
HOW IT WORKS:
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CHALLENGE BUTTON IS NOW WORKING. YOU CAN CLICK IT TO CHALLENGE PEOPLE.
The ladder is a ranking system and players try to move up the ladder by challenging higher-ranked players to a match. If the challenger wins the match, he or she moves up to that spot and everyone in between slides back one spot. If the challenger loses the match, everyone stays where they were. Players may challenge anyone up to 20 places higher. New players may make their first challenge as high as they like. Win and they move to that position; lose and they must start at the bottom and work their way up. See detailed ladder rules here.
A challenge match consists of a single set, with a 12-point tiebreaker at 6-6. Standings from one year carry over to the next, provided the player rejoins. Any new players are added to the bottom of the list. At the end of the season there is a ladder playoff among the top 16 players who have played a minimum of 8 matches. (top 8 players for the Women's Ladder and the 55 & Over Ladder for Men & Women.)
When joining the ladder, each registered player provides his or her name, email address and contact numbers and indicates when he or she is available to play: Weekends, Weekday Days or Weekday evenings. Challenges are issued directly to players by email, using the on-line ladder system. Ladder players' information on-line is protected by a ladder password.
