The 96th Street Red Clay Tennis Courts (Oscar Hijuelos Clay Courts) in Riverside Park are public courts, part of the New York City Parks & Recreation's system. Anyone can play here. Each player need to do one of the following:
- Present a valid, current New York City Parks Season Tennis permit, OR
- Purchase a $15 day pass at the courts, OR
- Present a current New York City Parks "Single Play" ticket
Season permits are $100 for adults, $20 for seniors, $10 for juniors. Single Play tickets are $15 each. Permits and Single Play tickets are usable at all NYC Parks tennis facilities, including the Riverside 96th Red Clay Courts. Players without a season permit or Single Play ticket may purchase a day pass for $15 which is valid ONLY for the 96th Red Clay Courts. Check the NYC Parks & Recreation website for Information about where and how Permits and Single Play tickets can be obtained.
ONLINE BOOKINGS AND RESERVATIONS
When all ten courts are open for the season, TWO of the ten courts will be available for advance reservations on-line for a $15 fee via the NYC Parks website.
Wait times vary according to time of day, day of week and time of year. The walk-on courts are secured by signing up at the courts on a first come/first served basis.
Rackets and used balls are available to borrow at no cost.
